This January is the first time that fully-insured medical carriers will be responsible for completing, distributing and filing forms 1094-B and 1095-B. In preparation for this new requirement carriers are required to reasonably attempt to collect missing social security numbers (SSN) for all enrolled members (including spouses and dependents). Over the next few months your health insurance carrier may reach out to enrolled members if they are missing SSNs.

Please note, the specifics will be handled differently depending on what health insurance carrier you have; therefore, members should be sure to follow any directions received.
